#4 - How to articulate the benefit of what you do in an employee network

This is the final blog post in the #Staffnetworkseries which aims to assist anyone currently running or interested in running a staff network as well as workplaces that are considering launching them.

Leading or being involved in a staff network can sometimes be a thankless task. You do so much because you have the passion for it but how do you help others understand what you do and see how it corresponds with your day-job? Find out more below.

As a Co-Chair, you have to lead from the front — lead on strategy, understand your team as individuals and know what they want to get from their roles, network well around your industry and ensure you are a strong voice for the network. I see the role very similar to a Manager leading a team and so many of the same practices carry through.

My motivation stems from seeing my father be the only ethnic minority in Insurance, and me understanding how much of a helping hand I had in my career.
