Halo and horns effect
The halo and horns effect is essentially a theory about association and bias. It is the idea that one trait leads you to pre-judge someone as either good or bad, if this is a good characteristic then this is called the halo effect and if it is not then it is called the horns effect.
e.g.
Horns effect example: this person dresses impressively, therefore they must be rich and not have got their job on merit/hard work.
